Hockey Equipment
- Minimum equipment required to play in shinny or league is
- Helmet (face mask not required, mouthguard recommended if not using a mask)
- Elbow pads
- Gloves
- Jock/Protective cup
- Shin pads
- Skates
- 1 dark jersey, 1 white jersey
- A stick
- Your best option (quality, selection, price) for ice hockey equipment if you want to play in Shanghai is to bring it from your home country.
- Failing that, player Hu Xu runs a hockey store in the XinYang market inside the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Metro stop on Line 2 (上海科技馆地铁站) in PuDong. Huxu speaks limited English but if you point to the area you'd like to protect, you should be able to get what you want.

Youth Hockey
- There are a number of rinks in Shanghai, but all SHC pick-up and games are played at the full size rink in Songjiang. We have compiled a list of rinks for your reference.
Professional Hockey
- There is a professional hockey team in Shanghai, the China Dragons, they play in the Asia League.
