Great to hear you are coming to Shanghai.

Definitely bring sticks. You will not find them in Shanghai.

There is no hockey until August. At some point, pick-up will start again (2-3 times per week), followed hopefully by a league. There will definitely be demand for your goalie-ness.

Keep an eye on the tournaments information too as goalies may be needed, although the next probably isn't until Bangkok in October.

Well I will arrive to Shanghai sometime early september. Gonna have a telephone interview about a job so I might go earlier for that in case I get hired!

I will try to get in touch with anyone of you hockeyplayers when I arrive. I have no idea where you play or when hehe.

Lets just hope for a league then!

BTW.. What is pick-up hockey exactly? We don't have such stuff here in Sweden.. :) Do you just meet and make up teams and play or what?

Yeah probably.. We don't do like that in Sweden at all. If we dont want to share the ice with figure skating-girls of course ..!!

One more goalie is always a benefit to our work developing hockey in Shanghai.

Mind if I ask what kind of experience do you have? how long have you been playing etc.? Help us with the planning for next year's league.

I started playing when I was 10 years old. When I was 15 I started to play for a team in the stockholm youth elite-leauge. After that I went on playing junior hockey in both swedish elite leauge and stockholm division 1. When I was 20 I played one year in adult division 1 and one year in division 2. Last year I only played for three months in a team in a low division for fun. I was travelling around in asia most part of the winter so I couldnt play in a serious team last year.
To explain this a little bit more, the adult hockey in sweden is based on the Elite league. After that we got allsvenskan, Then is div 1,2,3,4,5,6.. Thats how it's built up.

Sounds like you've got some great experience in net. We'll see how you do against our current number 1 though. He's Finnish with experience that's probably slightly more than yours but also has 20 years on you. I'm definitely expecting some good head to head battles. How is it going? Will there be any league and when will everything start? I wrote the wrong date above.. I will arrive the 9th and I just cant wait to get out on the ice.. gaaah!

A league should get going in the fall, but there is no date yet.
